elastic fantastic b-boys
Today I was shooting Red Bull's amazing B-Boys Ronnie (USA), LiLou (France) and Taisuke (Japan) who are currently touring for Red Bull's BC One series of events...
Red Bull BC One B-Boys Taisuke, Ronnie & LiLou on HK's TST waterfront
I had a couple of hours with the boys on the TST waterfront and then we did some evening shots in Causeway Bay but I'll concentrate this post on the day-time shoot in TST as that's where we had most time to work with them.
We started with trying a couple of sequences of them doing some pretty dynamic moves including air-flares and windmills...the guys move so quickly it was pretty difficult to keep up with them but I managed one particular move with LiLou. Once I asked him what I was looking to achieve he was really great at staying in the centre of the frame.
Here's a selection of the images that I shot by triggering my Nikon D3s and 14-24mm ultra-wide lens mounted on a Glidetrack Shooter SD. For triggering I used my Phottix Atlas units (an Asian manufacturer producing really high-quality photography and video accessories).

Here's the resulting composite sequence that I created as a layered file in Photoshop (the sequence comprised around 45 shots and I just chose a small selection):

We finally did some group shots for Red Bull's Hong Kong newsletter. We had only about 3 minutes shooting in the exact location I chose (where we could see the setting sun and the Hong Kong skyline in the background) and this was the final selection.
